A robot designed by people in care, for people in care.

The feeling of being alone is a very difficult and detrimental emotion to handle. Individuals can find it a difficult aspect to admit to, as many feel that the sense of loneliness is a weakness. As a result, many suffer from this pain in silence.

The 'Com-Pet' is a new style of robot whose sole aim is to try and counteract this issue. By working with leading researchers, the 'Com-Pet' has been designed from the ground up with the views and ideas of the end users in mind. Research data from numerous locations, individuals and studies, has helped to shape and design a new 'Exclusive' and 'Organic' companion.

Organic Structure

The robot utilises soft robotic technologies so that it is actuated in an organic, smooth manner. This also means that there is a skeletal structure that acts as the frame that the robot is built upon.

Public Prototype v1.1

Taken during the Newquay 'EPIC' Conference, the first public prototype was on display.
